Strange Interlude
My friend, the Right Honorable Dr. Steve Greer, is visiting the states for a couple of weeks, which corresponds to an uncharacteristic lull in rehearsal activity for me. So once again, I'm playing catch up with theatre-viewing: in addition to last weekend's columbinus and Fatboy, I caught Dolly West's Kitchen at Timeline and 20%'s staging of Top Girls this weekend. On Tuesday we'll see The Trip to Bountiful at the Goodman and on Saturday (barring ticket-unavailability) we'll see Silk Road's Our Enemies. Steve's also very eager to catch the Neos on their home turf, having seen them at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Also on tap for me this week or next - before the quick slide into tech week and the run of Laughter limits my ability to see any non-Equity shows until the fall - are Faster at the side project and The Caretaker at Mary-Arrchie.
In related news, I've started saving my receipts for ticket purchases.
In unrelated news, the future is now: Nick Keenan has generously (and somewhat gleefully) offered to help get the Chicago Theatre Database project up on it's web-feet. The hope is that it'll grow into something useful for everyone, and the potential applications for this data when shared is far beyond my occasional posts on number-crunching. There's definitely going to be some room for folks to contribute to adding and scrubbing data, so if anyone has an interest, let me know. And watch this space.

If you and your buddy want to take in Too Much Light this weekend, let me know. This is my last weekend in for a few months, so I might be able to hook you up with some seats (I can't promise comps, but I can offer that you won't miss the show due to a sellout).
Also, as long as I'm pimping shows, I should recommend New Leaf's Girl in the Goldfish Bowl because (a) on principle, I recommend New Leaf shows, and (b) because I've seen the thing and I really, really liked it.

Awesome - we definitely want to see TML. How should I let you know when we're coming?
Shoot me an email, as soon as you know when, and as soon as possible...bilald AT gmail DOT com.
See you soon.
